About Wesley Friends
Wesley Friends was founded in 1995 when leadership at Wesley Medical Center realized the vital importance that an active and social lifestyle plays in the health of adults 50+. Wesley Friends started as a ‘social club’ that also provided access to health screenings and seminars about healthy living. Over the years, the Wesley Friends programming has expanded to include day trips around the region and even international trips to far flung locations such as Ireland, Nova Scotia and the Caribbean. Today, over 3,500 members are enjoying a healthier and more socially active life through Wesley Friends. Whether it’s a lunch bunch chat to discuss grandkids and golf scores, comparing “numbers” from important screenings, hitting the road for a day trip to see a new place and learn new things or embarking on a week-long ocean cruise, Wesley Friends members are living a healthier and happier life!
